Providence, RI — The Music Mansion is pleased to announce the first event of its new monthly concert series, First Fridays, curated by 2017 composer-in-residence Kirsten Volness. The concerts will feature chamber music exploring a variety of styles: from English and Irish folk music to new compositions for instruments and electronics by some of the most exciting living composers around. Chosen for their extraordinary talent and adventurous programming, the lineup of virtuosic performers includes Hub New Music, Maria Finkelmeier, Transient Canvas, The Vox Hunters, and Lilit Hartunian and Friends.

Smith, Director of the RISD Museum, and Sarah Ganz Blythe, Deputy Director of Exhibitions, Education, and Programs, are pleased to announce appointments to three new RISD Museum fellowships. Artists James P. Falzone and Xander Marro, both of Providence, serve as the Museum's first Artist Fellows, and Amber Lopez, also of Providence, joins the Museum as the first Nancy Prophet Fellow. All three fellows were selected from large pools of impressive applicants.
